An electrical motor problem caused a fire in an air conditioner Thursday afternoon at Ameriwood Industries, 458 Second Ave.
Tiffin Fire Chief Bill Ennis said the air conditioner motor burnt up in the office area, causing smoke in the building and prompting employees to be evacuated from the building. The damage was contained to the air conditioner, and no smoke damage was reported in the building.
