Bob Hendershot, Natural Resources Conservation Service state grazing specialist, is to be the featured speaker at a Pasture Walk and management meeting 5:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at Baldosser Farms, 5393 TR 78, Green Springs.
The meeting is to include all species of livestock. Other topics are to include late-summer grazing tips, fall and winter management, extended and rotational grazing, along with the benefits of proper water locations and nutrient levels in pastures. Topics are chosen to give the producer ideas on how to produce more pounds of meat from grass while decreasing the amount of grain fed.
The event is sponsored by Seneca, Crawford, Sandusky and Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation districts along with Natural Resource Conservation Services and Seneca County Beef Producers.
Registrations are due Aug. 22 with a $6 fee, which includes a meal.
