Chance Brickner, who became a two-time gold medalist in the national SkillsUSA collision repair competition Friday, gets a hug from his stepgrandmother, Betty Park, after he arrived in Tiffin Saturday night. A Bascom Joint Fire District truck took him home, where family and friends had gathered. Brickner, a 2011 Hopewell-Loudon High School graduate, represented Sentinel Career and Technology Center's collision repair program in the contest in Kansas City. Jacob Kline, a 2011 graduate of Mohawk High School, received a silver medal in the automotive refinishing technology competition. He also represented Sentinel's collision repair program. Their instructor, Carl Rusch, said Brickner showed leadership in guiding Kline. He said he is proud of them and is going to miss them. "(They are) very good kids, (and a) pleasure to work with," Rusch said. To view more photos from this event, visit cu.advertiser-tribune.com.
