A State Highway Patrol trooper from Upper Sandusky and a Hilliard woman were injured in crash on US 23 in Wyandot County Saturday afternoon.
According to the Bucyrus post of State Highway Patrol, Trooper Matt Ruth, 32, was taken to Wyandot Memorial Hospital by Upper Sandusky EMS, and Adriane K. Ventresca, 31, was taken to Wyandot Memorial Hospital by Nevada EMS.
Ventresca later was airlifted to Ohio State University Medical Center, and a hospital spokesman said she was not listed in the directory Sunday afternoon.
Ruth was released from the hospital Sunday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
According to a release from State Highway Patrol, Ventresca was driving a 2009 Ford Escape and was in the left lane, attempting to change into the right lane.
Ruth was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe State Highway Patrol cruiser and was slowing to make a right turn onto Antrim TR 72.
When Ventresca's vehicle changed lanes, it struck the back of the cruiser, the release states.
The accident, which occurred around 4:47 p.m. Saturday, closed the northbound lanes of US 23 for about an hour, the release states.
Personnel from Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, Upper Sandusky fire and EMS and Nevada fire and EMS assisted State Highway Patrol, it states.
