Tarp, liner maker plans Fostoria facility, jobs

February 18, 2011

FOSTORIA A Washington-based company said it plans to expand operations to Fostoria, adding a number of new jobs to the area.

Inland Tarp and Liner LLC, headquartered in Moses Lake, Wash., is to open a 192,00-square-foot facility in Fostoria, which is to enable the company to service most of its customers in the Eastern U.S. in a timely manner.

"We view this expansion as a necessary step in meeting the growing delivery and production demand of our customer base," President Glen Knopp said in a news release. "(It) should provide a significant opportunity for new customers looking for a reliable supplier of high quality tarps and liners."

Ron MacKenzie, eastern operations manager, is to oversee production.

"It was a good opportunity with the plant," MacKenzie said. "We were looking to expand to the Midwest and Fostoria was one of 10 or 11 places we were looking at."

According to a news release, Inland is a "recognized leader" for the production and supply of hay tarps, pond liners, building covers and products for agriculture, commercial and industrial needs.
