A crew continues to work at the scene of a trail derailment and fire west of Arcadia Tuesday morning. The last car was removed from the track late Monday afternoon, and the track opened to traffic at 11:55 p.m. Monday, said Rudy Husband, director of public relations for Norfolk Southern. Norfolk Southern still has long-term repairs to make, he said. The train, which was carrying ethanol from Chicago to North Carolina, derailed shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday. It usually takes several weeks to determine a cause, Husband said Monday. Watch the video for this event.
