Florus and Viola Schalk celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary recently.
They celebrated with a Mass Oct. 10, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Edward Dunn and the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A family dinner at Ole Zim's Wagon Shed followed the Mass.
The Schalks were married Oct. 8, 1955, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, New Washington.

Florus is the son of the late Alphons and Catherine Schalk. He is retired from National Machinery.
Viola is the daughter of the late Edmund and Rose Schalk. She works at St. Francis Convent.
They are parents of three children, Gerald and Urban of Tiffin and Elaine, who is deceased. They also have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
