The Rev. Kieran Kay blesses Max, a Yorkshire terrier owned by Lorrie Shiffer, during the third annual Blessing of Pets Sunday at St. Francis Home. More than 70 pets were blessed and given a St. Francis of Assisi medallion. Local businesses also donated door prizes. Today is the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and ecology.
