Firefighters from five departments battled a large barn fire Wednesday night on TR 102.
Bascom, NBS, Clinton Township, McCutchenville and Kansas firefighters were called to 5617 TR 102 just after 8:15 p.m. for the report of a barn fire.
"I've never seen a fire start so quick," said Roger Arbogast, a neighbor who went to the residence as soon as he saw the fire. "Within four minutes, the whole thing was gone. It was unbelievable."

Arbogast said he saw the fire start in the back side of the barn, which he estimated to be at least 70 feet by 30 feet.
Straw was stored there, he said, and two rams were inside when the fire started.
Bascom Fire Chief Harry Miller said Wednesday night no injuries had been reported, and he expected firefighters to be at the residence all night.

Cause of the fire remains under investigation, Miller said.
"We'll be here most of the night protecting exposures," Miller said. "We're protecting it so it doesn't spread."
