Verlin and Shirley Thacker are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 6, 1960, at EUB Church in Tiffin by the Rev. H. Joe Grim.
The couple will celebrate with a dinner given by their children at 4 p.m. Aug. 7, 2010, at God's Lighthouse, Tiffin.
Verlin is the son of the late Orville and Opal Thacker. He is a retired construction worker.

Shirley is the daughter of the late Frank and Edna Turner. She was a nurses' aide at Mercy Tiffin Hospital for many years and is retired.
They are the parents of six children, Sheri (Ted) Myers of Tiffin, Kelly Thacker of Cincinnati and Verlin (Vicki) Thacker, Chad Thacker, Amy (Ron) Banks and Josh (Amy) Thacker, all of Tiffin. They have 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one grandson and a great-grandchild on the way.
