SHELBY - Alex Weaver and Kyle Illig captured a title Saturday and teammate Derek Walton finished second in singles competition to highlight Columbian's effort at the Division II sectional at Shelby.
The three Tornadoes will play Wednesday in the district tournament at Port Clinton.
Weaver and Illig coasted to a 6-1 win in the opening set of the finals against Shelby's Matt Bershock and Mike Zappa, but fell 3-6 in the second. The two bounced back with a 6-3 win in the deciding third set after trailing 3-0.
The pair reached the finals by beating Willard's Nick Popa and Chase Harter.
Walton fell 7-5, 6-2 in the singles finals to Galion's Dorion Kempf. He reached the finals by beating Willard's Alex Hanes 6-2, 6-0.
