BLOOMVILLE - Organizers of this year's ball league are planning a 6 p.m. Sunday open meeting at the community center for parents and participants.
Organizers also have taken care of applying for a food license at the ballfield, said Clerk Treasurer Janis Weasner Thursday during a report about village council's meeting.
Weasner said council further discussed fund raising ideas for Beeghly Park swimming pool and the community Wednesday night.
One possibility would center on local history as the focus for an event. Other ideas ranged from a fish fry, car show or other activities to draw people to a fund-raiser.
Planning continues for a 6:30 p.m. April 7 town meeting at the community center to discuss fund raising and cost cutting options needed to keep the swimming pool open this year. Weasner said council is encouraging the public to attend the discussion.
In other matters, Weasner said Solicitor Tim Hoover informed council any decision to restrict the number of trash haulers serving the village would require adopting two ordinances.
A first step would involve providing for a single-hauler plan with specifications for trash service.
A second ordinance then would be needed to prevent other haulers from collecting trash within the village, stating penalties for non-compliance.
Weasner said council plans to talk with haulers before taking any action.
The next council meeting is 7 p.m. March 17.
