Few days still left to treat the feet

POSTED: November 19, 2009

Winter in Ohio can be defined as the time from when a resident's toes get cold until they warm up again.

Members of the Community Council likely agree with that description. The council has been sponsoring the Socks That Rock program this fall.

You may have noticed the Socks That rock boxes at various locations in Tiffin. Boxes were to be placed at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, Tiffin Bake Shop, National City Bank, Denny's, Burger King, Peebles, Dollar General, The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, Bob Evans, Taco Bell, Napoli's Pizza, McDonald's and Bodyworks Fitness & Tanning.

Area residents are asked to put new pairs of socks in the boxes. The socks are to be distributed to families receiving holiday assistance next month.

The effort is to wrap up Saturday, when Seneca House, 781 S. Greenfield St., is to host a Sock Hop 6-8 p.m. Admission is one pair (or more) of new socks.

Please plan to attend or drop some socks in the box. Hurry, time is running out.
