Pork tenderloin dinner Sunday

REPUBLIC?-- Republic United Church of Christ is to host its annual Pork Tenderloin Dinner Sunday.

Dinners are to consist of pork tenderloin, au gratin potatoes, peas and carrot blend, tossed salad, applesauce and homemade pies.

Serving begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. or as food supplies last. Cost is $7.50 for adult dinner and $3.50 for a child size dinner.

The church located at 312 S. Madison St., Republic.

World Community Day is Nov. 6

Church Women United are to celebrate World Community Day at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mary Church.

The special speaker is to be Sister Jane Omlor from St. Francis who is to speak on the Project STRAWbuilding, a house of straw on the St. Francis campus.

Churches taking part in the day are Washington Street United Methodist Church, St. Jacob Church of Christ, Trinity United Church of Christ and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

World Community Day was organized by Church Women United in 1941 and is celebrated world wide. It is a recognized United Nations organization.

The celebration is open to all denominations.

Lambson to be featured in musical fireside

Come enjoy a musical fireside at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at The Church of Latter-Day Saints, 570 Spayth St., Tiffin.

Elder Jacob Scott Lambson is to be the featured pianist at this event. He is to perform well-known classical hymns of the church that have become known throughout the world in part due to the singing of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

The theme of the fireside is to be "Come Unto Christ" and some of the hymns are to include: "I Believe in Christ," "Nearer my God to Thee," "Love One Another," and "Sweet Hour of Prayer."

Lambson started his formal musical training at the age of three in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the age of 10 he moved with his family to Las Vegas, where his training in classical music continued and he began competing in regional and national competitions.

Kansas St. James to host Mass

KANSAS -- Kansas St James is to celebrate Mass at 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at Kansas United Methodist Church, SR 635, Kansas.

Two of the parishes' newest members are to be baptized during the service.

A pot luck social is to follow.

Old Tyme Church Bazaar to take place Nov. 14

FOSTORIA -- The 22nd Olde Tyme Church Bazaar is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 14 at Fostoria's Hope Lutheran Church, located at Wood and Center streets. The bazaar is in Luther Center and a luncheon is in the church basement.

A self-serve coffee house is to begin the morning and flavored coffees, teas, hot chocolate, muffins and doughnuts are to be offered.

Karen Harman's Cookie Walk is to feature many homemade treats. Mike Harman and Al Duble is to feature their turned wood cookie jars, bowls and woodcrafts.

Many handmade crafts are to be available, such as quilts, flower arrangements, blankets and fall and Christmas items.

There also is to be a bake sale and a White Elephant Sale with furniture, antiques, baby items, and glassware.

Country Harvest Kitchen, hosted by Marion Brookman, is to offer a luncheon beginning at 11 a.m. The menu is to feature homemade vegetable beef and bean with ham soups, cornbread, chicken and sloppy joe sandwiches and desserts.

The proceeds from this event is to benefit Fostoria's Sharing Kitchen and the Luther Center Furnace Fund.
