SE puts it all together
PLYMOUTH - The start to Week 1 went well before it all fizzled out. Friday, Seneca East rolled all night long.
Cody Kidwell figured in five touchdowns and got a lot of support as the Tigers thumped Plymouth, 47-0.
"We came out and played a great team game and played with intensity. Last week we played about a quarter to a half of good football against a great Clear Fork team," Seneca East coach Ed Phillips said.
"Tonight we put together four quarters, and everybody got to play. I was really pleased by the team effort we put forth."
Kidwell sandwiched TD runs of 12 and 5 yards in the first quarter around Tyler Crapo's 6-yard scoring run to stake the Tigers (1-1) to a 21-0 lead.
Kidwell then connected on touchdown passes of 69 yards to Crapo and 73 yards to John Scherley in the second quarter before hitting Zach Michalski with a 6-yard TD strike in the third.
Nick Hughes tacked on a 38-yard touchdown run in the fourth for the Tigers.
Kidwell ended 7 of 8 for 195 passing yards, with Jamie Schafer catching two passes for 68 yards.
Bucks ride Stockmaster, cruise past Mapleton
NEW WASHINGTON - Josh Stockmaster ran for three scores and Buckeye Central held Mapleton to 27 yards passing Friday as the Bucks rolled up a 26-7 win.
Stockmaster had TD runs of 8 yards in the third quarter and of one and 59 yards in the fourth for the Bucks (2-0) on the way to 84 yards on 12 carries.
Stockmaster first scored on the final play of the third quarter to put Buckeye Central up, 12-0. Alex Finney snapped a scoreless tie with a 1-yard plunge midway through the first quarter.
Mapleton closed the gap on 21-yard scoring pass early in the fourth before Stockmaster and the Bucks answered.
Bulkowski fills QB spot after Johnson injury, does just fine in win
BOWLING GREEN - Fostoria's Jordan Bulkowski had to step in for quarterback Perry Johnson (who sustained an injury), but Bulkowski stepped up, throwing for 135 yards and leading the Redmen to a 22-14 win against Bowling Green.
Bulkowski tallied two touchdown runs to go along with a 12-of-18 passing effort.
Jacob Solether sacked BG quarterback Nick Miller in the end zone for a safety, and Trevon Tucker added a 68-yard touchdown for the Redmen (1-1).
Brause has a huge fourth quarter
BUCYRUS - Tyler Brause scored three touchdowns; the two in the fourth were crucial and gave Wynford a 19-12 win over the Mohawk.
Zack Keller put Mohawk up 6-0 with a 51-yard run in the first quarter, and Aaron Konkle's 5-yard scoring run in the third let the Warriors grab a 12-7 advantage.
Brause gave Wynford a 7-6 lead early in the third on a 38-yard run.
He plowed in from 2 yards out midway through the fourth to put the Royals up 13-12, then broke off an 85-yard TD run with 1:51 to play for the final score. Brause rushed for 178 yards and passed for 83.
Konkle went 7 of 21 for 112 yards for the Warriors, while Aric Shock rushed for 52 yards.
Dennison more than menace for Rams
BUCYRUS - Kyle Dennison threw two TD passes and ran for two more Friday to spark Bucyrus' 42-27 win over Upper Sandusky.
Dennison figured in two of the Redmen's first three scores, hitting Michael Scheerer with a 46-yard scoring strike late in the first quarter and sprinting in from 3 yards out midway through the second for a 21-0 lead.
Those two scores came after Britt Cox's 7-yard TD run in the first period.
After a 20-yard Cale Sandridge pass to Cole Johnson touchdown pass let the Rams cut the deficit to 21-7 with 1:10 left in the first half, Dennison found Taylor Ellis for a 7-yard TD pass with 10 seconds left in the second quarter.
Dennison added a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth. He finished 11-of-17 passing for 156 yards.
The Rams rallied in the fourth with Trevor Thornton's 53-yard TD run and Sandridge's 24-yard scoring pass to Wyatt Garber to cut the deficit to 35-20 with 2:14 to play.
Both teams scored after that, with Cox sprinting in from 15 yards and Chase Kenner hauling in an 11-yard touchdown pass from Sandridge.
Christian Ross paced Bucyrus with 112 yards on 13 carries.
Sandridge went 15 of 22 for 123 yards and an interception for the Rams. Thornton ran five times for 76 yards.
