Judith "Judy" D. Schauder, 71, of Birchard Avenue, Fremont, went to be with her Lord Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 17, 1938, in Fostoria, to Asa W. and Esther (DeMund) Shiflet. Judy married Charles "Chuck" M. Schauder April 23, 1960, in Fostoria.
Judy was a 1956 graduate of Fostoria High School. She was director of Sandusky County Day Care and Nursery for more than 20 years, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of Journey Church and a member of Mission American Placement Service.
She enjoyed camping with her family, playing cards (especially euchre), singing and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" M. Schauder of Fremont; two children, Lezlie D. Fahl (Jeffrey D.) Kinder of Painesville and Todd (Diana) Schauder of Sandusky; two brothers, Gordon Shiflet of Syracuse, N.Y., and David Shiflet of Des Moines, Iowa; and five grandchildren, Joshuah Schauder, Lauren Pippin, Kaleb Schauder and Nathan and Erin Fahl.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two half-brothers, William A. and Paul Shiflet.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH 43420.
A memorial celebration will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at Victory Christian Fellowship Church, 2051 Old Oak Harbor Road, Fremont, with the Rev. Ken DeChant officiating. Burial will be at McGormley Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials may be made to Journey Church, American Cancer Society or Gideon Bible Society.
