The singles and doubles portion of the 79th-annual Tiffin Men's Bowling Association Tournament ended with a familiar face winning the singles title. Lloyd Sand, who rolled a perfect game in tourney action a few years ago, used a strong third game to take home first place.

A 250 effort in game three led to a 648 actual series for Sand. Tacking on his handicap gave him a total of 744 and the top prize. No fewer than 11 bowlers shot 700 for the tournament.

Second place went to Dale Dickson with 732, while Carl Prenzlin slotted in third at 728 and Dave Hohman notched fourth with a 727 effort. Others who shot 700 included Ben Hoyda 719 (actual), Dave Sauber 715, Tim Krupp 714, Ryan Clouse 704, Jack Berrier 701 and Tyson Shope 701.

Doubles action found three father/son duos vying for the title. When all was said and done Dave Conley and his son Kory repeated as champions. Both Conleys shot 612, which translated to a total of 1,479 with handicap.

Steve Steinmetz Sr. and Steve Steinmetz Jr. (736) posted a 1,406 total to place second. Third place went to Dave King and son Brian (706) with 1,382. Aaron Sherman and Nate Hozhaver (707) finished fourth with 1,377. The fifth position belonged to Ron Crum and Jack Berrier who shot 1,358.

Next on tap for the men will be the team competition.

The 80th-annual Tiffin Women's Bowling Association continued its team competition, as the top four teams are separated by a combined 27 pins. Tiffin Scenic Studios currently sits on the top of the ladder as Doris Shaull, Jean Wolfe, Helen King, Carol Radebaugh and Ann Everhart rolled a 3,012 series.

One pin back at 3,011 is Outskirtz, composed of Holly Stout, Jen Rosenbalm, Mandy Dull, Ashley Robles and Beth Jones. Ron's Rollers (2,987), Rebels (2,985) and Heritage Family Center (2,958) round out the top five teams.

Ashley Robles rolled games of 201-237-200 for a 638 series. Her second game is the high actual game of the tournament and her 638 stands as the top series so far. Jones threw the only other 200 game of the second night of play with a 203. Shooting 500 series were Nita Doran 527, Holly Stout 526, Jones 518, Rosenbalm 512, Angie Mathias 510 and Heather Butler 502.

The ladies have one more evening of team competition before turning their attention to singles and doubles action.
