A former Big Ten football coach is to be the speaker for Tiffin University's first Good Morning World breakfast lecture of the school year.

Earle Bruce, who coached Ohio State University football for nine years, is to deliver "Win with Good People" Nov. 20, two days before the Buckeyes take on the Wolverines from the University of Michigan.

Michael Grandillo, TU's vice president for development and public affairs, said Bruce is a high-energy man who will speak about ways to win not only on the football field, but in the workplace.

"He's entertaining (and) motivational and has a lot to add about insight into the upcoming weekend, the upcoming big game," he said.

According to a release from TU, Bruce had an 81-26-1 record at OSU and was an assistant coach under Woody Hayes when OSU won a national championship 40 years ago. Bruce is the football operations director for the Columbus Destroyers, having served as the team's head coach in the Arena Football League four years ago, according to TU.

Bruce, who is the author of two books, was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, the release states.

Grandillo said Bruce spoke to TU's football team about 10 years ago.

"It was time to bring him back again," he said. "He's been a good friend of the university."

Grandillo said he thought it would be good to have a "headliner" on the first lecture of the series' 25th year.

"It's a good way for us to give back to the community," he said. "Sponsoring Good Morning World for 25 years in Tiffin has been a fantastic partnership with the Tiffin community."

Grandillo said the university will have four more lectures in the second semester.

"We've got some exciting things on the horizon," he said.
