Police are searching for a man after an armed robbery at Check Into Cash, 748 W. Market St., around 3:40 p.m. Monday.

Tiffin Police Chief Dave LaGrange said the man, described as a black male in his 20s or 30s, between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall, clean shaven and wearing a plaid shirt, brandished a gun and demanded cash, taking an undetermined amount.

LaGrange said after the clerk complied, the man got into a black Jeep Liberty with an Ohio Smokey Bear license plate and fled the scene.

A sample of the Smokey Bear license plate on the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles Web site shows an image of the bear and states "Only You" and "More Trees, Healthy Forests."

LaGrange said Monday evening police still were investigating the robbery and were looking into several leads.

"We've got a number of leads," LaGrange said.
