Elizabeth "Betty" Miles, 62, of Spartanburg, S.C., died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Spartanburg Hospital.
Born in Tiffin May 4, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Kirian) Steinmetz. She was formerly employed at Webster as an executive secretary. Betty was also employed at Converse College and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband, Max "Pete" Miles; two daughters, Jenni (Rodney) Clinger of Sycamore and Jacki (Bryan) Roper of Pickens, S.C.; three brothers, Bill (Kim) Steinmetz of Bettsville, Jerry (Angie) Steinmetz of Tiffin and Dick (Andrea) Steinmetz of Arizona; three sisters, Joyce Cascaden of Arizona, Donna Steinmetz of Youngstown and Pat Hall of Tiffin; five grandchildren, Christopher and Alec Clinger, and Jeffrey, Zachary and Dylan "DJ" Roper; one great-grandchild, Myles Roper; and a special friend, Diane Wheeler.
She also was preceded in death by a grandchild, Myles Roper, and a brother-in-law, Jack Cascaden.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial is to follow at Sandridge Cemetery in Bascom.
