More antiques and a few new dealers are to be featured at the 14th annual Fall Glass and Antiques Show and Sale, sponsored by the Tiffin Glass Collectors Club. The event is set for Nov. 1 and 2 at the Seneca County School of Opportunity. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
Tiffin Glass is the focus of the show, but china, silver, furniture and other antiques also will be available from a dozen vendors. At its booth, the club is to be selling books and other items to benefit the museum.
Museum Director Ruth Hemminger said the club also has a new Tiffin logo, produced by the Mosser Glass Co. of Cambridge, Ohio. Done in the company's iridized marigold color, the logos are priced at $25 each.
"We also have a new ornament. It's a pale yellow. Some have the 'Tiffin' in gold and some have the black lettering," Hemminger said.
The Tiffin Glass Collectors Club is hosting a buffet banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Pioneer Mill Restaurant, 255 Riverside Drive. The club is observing the museum's opening 10 years ago at 25 S. Washington St. The site has memorabilia from the Tiffin Glass factory and more than 1,000 pieces of glassware on display, including special seasonal exhibits.
"We're going to be celebrating our 10th anniversary with cake and a small glass auction at the dinner," Hemminger said.
Admission to the museum is free, and many items can be purchased in the adjoining shop. The museum is to have extended hours, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., both days, so guests can stop by before or after visiting the show. They also are encouraged to participate in the "Little Box Shops" weekend in Tiffin.
Admission to the glass show is $3 for both days. The School of Opportunity is located at 780 E. CR 20, south of Tiffin. Signs are to be posted. More information is available by visiting www.tiffinglass.org or by calling (419) 447-5505.
Looking ahead, Hemminger also is inviting the public to stop by during Victorian Christmas weekend Dec. 5 and 6.
"We're going to have an open house from 7-9 p.m. Friday. We'll have door prizes and refreshments. We'll do the same on Saturday from 1-5 p.m., during our regular hours," Hemminger said.
