Bellevue man killed in accident Monday evening
A Bellevue man was killed Monday evening in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of CR 21 and CR 34 in Adams Township, according to a release from the State Highway Patrol.
Michael W. Black, 42, of Bellevue, was driving a 1990 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight westbound on CR 34 when he failed to yield from a stop sign at about 7:45 p.m. and was struck on the driver's side by a northbound 1994 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 on CR 21, driven by Matthew H. Holmer, 21, of Republic, the release states.
Black was not wearing a seat belt, according to the release, and was trapped in the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Holmer was wearing his seat belt and was transported by Seneca County EMS to The Bellevue Hospital with unknown extent of injuries, according to the release.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
According to the release, alcohol use is unknown.
The Seneca County Sheriff's Office, Green Springs Volunteer Fire Department and the Seneca County Coroner's Office also responded to the accident.
