Police arrest couple in robbery

POSTED: July 5, 2008

A Clyde man and woman were arrested Thursday morning in connection with the June 23 armed robbery at the Medicine Shoppe in Tiffin.

William H. Perkins Jr., 26, and Andrea D. Ford, 23, were arrested after Tiffin Police detectives and the Sandusky County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at the pair's residence on CR 223 in Clyde, according to a release from the Tiffin Police Department.

Perkins has been charged with aggravated robbery and Ford has been charged with complicity, the release states.

Following the robbery, witnesses had reported a white male entered the pharmacy at 465 W. Perry St., displayed a small handgun and demanded several controlled substances.

LaGrange said police detectives believe Ford waited in a car for Perkins while he obtained prescription medications.

Witnesses said the car then departed from an alley on Nelson Street toward Market Street.

LaGrange said "bits and pieces of information" led to the couple's arrest, and bond for both individuals is set at $500,000.

Preliminary hearings for Perkins and Ford has been set for July 11.
