Phillip J. Hicks
Phillip J. Hicks, 47, of Shelby, died May 7, 2008, due to a work related accident.
He was born April 3, 1961, in Willard to Pharrow and Helen (Roeder) Hicks. Phillip was a graduate of Willard High School, class of 1979, and was a fork lift technician for Brennan Truck Company and Phillips MFG. He enjoyed hunting; motorcycles, owning his first when he was 18 years old; and spending time with his family and friends.
Phillip is survived by his mother, Helen Hicks of Willard; his wife Gladys (Gayheart) Hicks of Shelby; two sons, Nathan Laser of Mansfield and Jonathon Laser of Shelby; two daughters, Abby Stephens of Shelby and Tiffany Heynes of Shiloh; six grandchildren, Lexi, Dylan, Summer, Chloe, Alyssa and Gavin; one brother, Otto (Lois) Hicks of Willard; five sisters, Mary (Daryl) Kilgore of Plymouth, Harley Craven of Willard, Joyce (Mike) McGahhey of Willard, Phyllis Hicks of Willard and Melissa (Timothy) Barker of Cincinnati; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and two nephews, Harrison Barker and Heath Hicks.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with the Rev. Stanley Szybka officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Monday, at Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, 323 Myrtle Ave., Willard, with a vigil service at 8 p.m., Monday.
