The Seneca County Board of Mental Health announced Thursday afternoon The Ohio Department of Mental Health has reassigned all area directors to other positions, due to cost cutting measures. Chairperson Becky Clouse said those not reassigned were offered an early retirement incentive.
New housing opportunities also were of topic at the board’s monthly meeting, and Scott Boone of New Housing Opportunities, Inc. announced several properties and grants are in the works.
“We’ve been working very diligently bringing new housing opportunities to the community,” Boone said. “We’ve made a lot of progress.”
Approving a contract in an amount not to exceed $10,000 to New Housing Opportunities, Inc. from March 28 through June 30, board members plan on touring some of the company’s current housing in southern Ohio in April.
In other business, the board approved:
n A motion to submit the Fiscal Year 2009 Ohio Department of Mental Health Community Plan to the ODMH.
n An appropriation increase of $25,000 for levy expenses incurred from the November 2007 elections into the 2008 budget.
n An appropriation decrease of $450 from Line Item, Contract Services Fund Account and an appropriation increase of $450 to Line Item, Other Expenses Fund Account.
n An appropriation of $10,000 into Line Item, Contract Services - Administrative, Fund Account.
