Chasing the ultimate dream of playing the game of golf
You’ve made up your mind. This is the year. It is definitely going to happen. You are convinced that you will get a hole-in-one sometime this golf season.
Well, I wish you luck. The odds are stacked against you, but the odds can be beaten. Most golfers never achieve the ultimate dream in golfdom. One can play for an entire lifetime without experiencing the thrill of scoring an ace.
Then again, some people get more than one. Did you know the Guiness Book world record for the most aces on the same hole belongs to a local golfer?
The late Joe Lucius of Tiffin owned the 15th hole at Mohawk Country Club. When he pulled out his 5-iron and sent the ball into the cup on May 12, 1984 he went into the record book. Sixty-seven years old at the time, it was his 13th hole-in-one on the 142-yard par-3!
It is a dream for every golfer. Unfortunately for most golfers it is just that – a dream.
