GVSU at TU women
December 3, 2011 - Zach Baker
Grand Valley State trails the Dragons, 14-11 at the 9:40 mark. Jaeb is working out of the point position. Now with 7:56 left, TU is clinging to a 14-13 lead. The Dragons do appear to be struggling in getting to the basket. Right now the Dragons are making their 3-pointers, but against the Lakers, you'll likely need more than that. They are 1-3, but they don't look it.
At the 4:43 mark, the Dragons lead, 21-17. Karli Mast has five points. GVSU has a few players with 4.
TU leads, 26-23 at half. Jaeb picked up her third foul in the final minute.. She has nine points.
With 14:29 left in regulation, TU trails GVSU, 36-33. TU hasn't scored in two minutes.
TU has five turnovers this half, but they're coming at bad times. Meanwhile, GVSU has started to execute offensively. The flaw in TU's ball pressure in the second half is that it has left Briauna Taylor wide open in the corner a number of times, and she's hitting. It's 50-39 GVSU at at the 9:33 mark
Dragons were down 13 moments ago, but it is down to nine, 53-44. GVSU has missed 3s on each of the last two possessions.
At the 5:03 mark, a Mast 3 makes it 58-47. But TU won't be able to trade baskets. A Jaeb basket makes it 58-49 at the 4:04 mark as GVSU takes time. So that makes it 58-49.
They've traded baskets, and Jaeb, who has 21, has a free throw coming. 3:34 left.
Jaeb has 26, but it looks like the Dragons will lose, down 69-61 in the final half minute.
