Heidelberg women v. Oberlin

December 30, 2010 - Zach Baker
Four 3-pointers in the first three and a half minutes have given Oberlin a 14-3 advantage. Heidelberg made one of its first five shots.

Heidelberg answers with a 9-0 run, and has cut the deficit to 14-12. (14:07)

Right now, outside shooting appears to be the thing for both teams. Jenny Miller hasn't scored yet, but Heidelberg is hanging in thatnks to Emily Giel's 13 points and Kristen McConkey's nine. It's Oberlin, 34-32 at the half.

Ashley Young has made four of five 3-pointers in the first half, and Oberlin has made 6 of 13 overall. Heidelberg has made 5 of 9. Giel has three of those. I don't want to say Heidelberg needs this game, but it seems like the first one is the toughest to get, and it'd be nice for the Student Princes to have a victory before Sunday's OAC game at Capital.

Heidelberg has opened up a 50-45 lead after a Nicole Lamb trey with 10:40 left. Also, HU SID Morgan Hawley has informed me that Kristen McConkey has her first career double double.

The Student Princes lead was up to 8 moments ago, now it's 52-48 with 8:44 left.

Giel just buried a 3. She has 16. Heidelberg leads, 59-50 with 5:49 left.

Miller has nine points, all in the second half. McConkey has 15 points, 12 boards and it appears Heidelberg is pulling away with 5:16 left. It's 61-53.

Heidelberg's lead is 64-54 with 1:52 to go. Giel, a freshman, has 18 points. Looks like Heidelberg will get its first win.
