| | TU women vs. MercyhurstNovember 20, 2010 - Zach BakerThe TU women try to go 3-0 tonight... After Mercyhurst jumps out to a 10-3 lead, TU rallies for 10 straight points, 6 coming on Jennifer Johnston 3s. It's 13-12 TU at the 14:11 mark of the first half. Quick, good game going on here. With 7:03 left, TU leads, 26-24, after a pair of short range baskets by Jessica Harris. I have Mercyhurst for seven turnovers, TU two. Johnson has four 3-pointers and 14 points, helping the Dragons to a 33-30 first half edge. 4:17 remains in the first half. Mercyhurst has also hit a number of treys, keeping things tight. TU's lead was as big as seven, but a three-point play by Amy Achesinski brought the Lakers back. Harris hit a jumper just before the buzzer to give the Dragons a 44-40 lead at the break. Johnston's 5 for 5 in 3s and has 17 points to lead all scorers. Achesinski has 13 points, but the Lakers have been solid from deep, connecting on 7 of 14. Lindsey Burke has hit three times and has eight points. Mercyhurst also is winning rebounding 14-9. Despite giving up a 4-point play earlier in the half, the Dragons have played well and have upped their lead to 59-50. Harris has 14 points, so does Jaeb. Jaeb's starting to be aggressive here. 14:18 left. -Jaeb has 19 now, TU leads, 64-53, 12:22 left. TU has broken it open, thanks to a few hustle plays from Karli Mast (who pumped her fist moments ago after draining a 3) and freshman Amanda Baute, who has fought to get some key rebounds. Very impressive. TU leads, 73-55, with 9:50 left. TU's lead got as big as 20, but the Lakers have scored eight straight points to make it 75-63 with 4:51 left. TU has gone a while without a basket, and give Mercyhurst credit. It keeps working hard on defense, but sloppiness is killing it. Holly Focke just fouled out. Jennifer Johnston has made back to back 3s. She is 7 of 7 from long distance, and that about wraps things up. She has 23 points, Jaeb 21, Harris 14.
