TU women vs. Findlay
February 27, 2010 - Zach Baker
With about 6:30 left, Tiffin leads Findlay, 21-20. Senior Katrina Clark has eight points,so does Jennifer Johnston.
Interesting tidbit, since there were no stoppages between 15 minutes and five minutes, we are taking the 10-minute media timeout at the 4:52 mark. Next stoppage, we'll take another media timeout. Tiffin leads, 24-22. Johnston has three 3s and 11 points. Mandy Jaeb only has 1.
Tied at 29 at the 2:54 left. For the second straight game, Jaeb's shot looks a little off. Still, she's had enough support so far that the Dragons have had a lead (albeit a small one) for most of the day.
Findlay's size played a big role in its 7-0 run just before the half. Ashley Andrews hit a 3 to break a 29-all tie, then Megan Sellers made a layup and was fouled. She missed the free throw, but Jessica Vorst grabbed an offensive board and hit a stick-back. Much like the second half of the last game between these two. 38-33 at half.
With 14:01 remaining, Findlay leads, 44-38. Each team has missed a fair amount of shots so far in the second half. Findlay has turned the ball over four times, after taking a 9-point lead.
With 9:52 left, Findlay leads, 52-41. The Dragons haven't scored in two and a half minutes, and haven't had a basket in almost six. Meanwhile, the Oilers have hit four of their last five shots from the floor.
At the 5:18 mark, Findlay leads, 57-47. The lead was up to 13, but Jordan Jenkins just drained a 3 to make it 10. TU's offense has been pretty chilly the last eight minutes or so.
With 3:31 remaining, Findlay has a 58-49 lead. At this point, TU can't afford any more possessions without points. Every foul means free throws for each team from this point on.
With a little more than a minute left, Findlay looks like it has this one put away, leading 62-51. Dragons offense was just too inconsistent in the second half.
