Tiffin men v. Northwood

February 18, 2010 - Zach Baker

With 13:47 left, Tiffin trails, 10-8. If there's one team the Dragons have had luck with over the last three years, it's the Timberwolves. The Dragons have won two of their last three against Northwood, including their only league win last season.

-Northwood leads, 19-14 with 9:43 left in the first half. The Timberwolves have made four 3-pointers, something that gave TU issues in Saturday's loss to Saginaw Valley.

Tiffin hasn't scored in three minutes. Booker Staudmire just banked in a jumper, giving the Timberwolves a 26-16 lead at the 7-minute mark.

-TU's Rafael Cuellar canned a point blank shot, and Keenan Barlow drained a 3 from the right corner, making it 28-23 Northwood.

After a missed Northwood shot, Brian Scott gets the ball and drives to the hole, finishing with a layup while being fouled. It's a 7-0 TU, perhaps eight if Scott can make the free throw. It's 28-25 Northwood.

Back-to-back 3's in the final minute from Brian Scott briefly tied the game, but Northwood got a basket just before the buzzer and went to the half up, 37-35.

Stoudmire has made all five of his shots, four of which are 3-pointers, and leads the Timberwolves with 15 points. Northwood has made 7 treys so far. TU is 3 of six behind the 3-point arc, but  0 of 3 from the foul line. Northwood is 4 of 8.

At the 15:13 mark, Northwood has opened up a 50-43 lead. The Timberwolves have made 10 3-pointers. Stoudmire has 18 points, going 6 of 6 from the floor. Five of the shots are 3-pointers.

With 8:50 left, Northwood leads, 56-51. The Timberwolves have bumped the lead up a couple times, but the the Dragons string a couple baskets together to draw close. But Tiffin's free throw shooting is killing it.

Stoudmire just hit his sixth 3-pointer of the game. I'm pretty sure he hasn't missed all night, and he has 21 points. TU's offense hasn't looked particularly good the last couple times down the floor. Put it this way-- when Mohammed Fall is taking a 3, things aren't going as planned. At the 4:57 mark, Northwood leads, 66-55.

TU has picked it up a bit, and trails 72-65 with 2:11 left. Northwood has four players who have scored in double digits. Chris Johnson splits a pair of free throws, then DeAngelo jordan hits a jumper and draws a foul. He completes the three-point play, and it's 73-68 at the 1:37 mark.

Stoudmire goes to the right corner, shoots a 3. It rattles, rolls, and falls in. It's just his night. Eight of eight from the floor. Seven 3-pointers, 24 points.  Northwood leads 76-68 at  the 1:26 mark. Looks like the end.
