The Cleveland Browns - Yikes!!

November 20, 2009 - Al Stephenson
Did you read the article in today's A-T about the Browns anemic offense? I did and the only thing I can say other that yikes is - PATHETIC!

I recall the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of Coach John McKay. I also remember his comment about the execution of his offense. That was a classic. Nice uniforms bad team - that's the best way to sum up those swashbucklers of the mid 1970's.

Now we have MY team used in the same converstation with those horrible Bucs and what's worse - the Browns offense might be worse. Can that be possible? In a few words - I think so.

The last Browns wide receiver to score a touchdown? You have to go back to November 2, 2008. Over a year ago!! The last Browns running back to score a TD? How about November 17, 2008. Holy Cow!!!!

How can this possibly be? Bringing in Eric Mangenious to be the head coach hasn't made much difference. He did manage to get rid of a couple of bad boys in Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards. However these guys actually scored on occasion. I never did understand how we could hire a guy that somebody else didn't want just days after they dumped him.

The Browns offense is an embarrassment. You would think that they would get lucky and a defensive back would fall down or something. It has to happen eventually. Doesn't it?

The view from my seat (glued to the TV but wearing a grocery sack that does NOT have eye holes) suggests that the only thing that could be worse than my situation - being a devoted Browns fan - would be to be a devoted Browns fan that has season tickets!!!

I am going to go out on a limb now and predict that this Sunday a Browns running back and a Browns wide receiver will score touchdowns. Hey we're playing the Lions!!
