I am home in Tiffin again after a visit to my original home.....England. I had a wonderful time visiting with my sister and traveling all over the country revisiting places we spent time as children. It was good to be away for a bit, and it is good to be back. Of course I had piles of mail, papers, scads of emails, and an overgrown garden. It's amazing how fast things grow when you have a faithful grandaughter watering them and no one keeping up with trimming and weeds. But my first days home were sweetened with some garden gifts. One reader told me not to buy another buddleia as he had several started in pots, and I was welcome to choose one. I selected a pot with both a white and a purple flowered plant, and they are looking good in their new home. And another reader wrote to me about my unkind comments on broccoli. She reminded me that broccoli is a cool weather plant, and should just be setting fits crop now in September. She also offered me plants, and so today I visited her garden and brought some healthy broccoli and cauliflower home with me. Sometimes, when a column will not come out right, I wonder if anyone really reads them, but here was proof that they do. And that gardeners are generous people, always willing to share.
