| | No. 1 Hopewell-Loudon 28, No. 5 Carey 0October 3, 2008 - Zach BakerIt was billed as a game between two of the Midland Athletic league's best, two of the region's best, two of the state's best. But it didn't take long for Hopewell-Loudon to separate itself from Carey, and for that matter, everyone else in league. Hopewell-Loudon received a pair of scores from Andrew Brickner (one rushing, one receiving) and Aaron Kapelka had a 34-yard rushing touchdown. A 28-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Brown to Jay Yost put the finishing touches on the win for the top-ranked Chieftains. Kapeka had 144 yards rushing. Carey's best chance at scoring came in the first quarter, when Cy Strahm's 27-yard field goal attempt went wide left. Derek Stock rushed for 97 yards for the Blue Devils, but had only 25 in the first half. At halftime, Hopewell-Loudon led, 21-0.
