TU vs. Findlay men

February 9, 2013 - Zach Baker
It is absolutley packed here at the Gillmor Center. Not a seat or a parking spot to be had. Findlay leads Tiffin by three, 28-25 with 4:40left in the first half. Dragons had an early leah, but good shooting by the Oilers and turnovers by the Dragons have turned things around. Greg Kahlig with a steal and a dunk. He has 13 and UF now leads 34-25. TU offense has gone stagnant, as the Oilers have decided they are not going to let Joe Graessle beat them and no one else seems comfortable handling the ball.

Joe Graessle with a ridiculous, ridiculous, ridiculous double teamed 3 from the right wing, and Tiffin -- suddenly -- is down a point, 34-33 at the half. Joe has 16. But here's the thing: Joe Graessle can beat Findlay. The question is if his teammates can give him enough support to win. Joe is 6 of 8, the rest of the team is 5 of 16 from the floor.

Greg Kahlig is matching Graessle shot for shot. He has 18 as Findlay now leads 44-38. Joe Graessle has missed his first three shots. TU can't win today if he isn't superman. And now Kahlig hits a 3 and is fouled. Oilers lead 50-40 with 14:54 left.

Joe Graessle can't do it by himself. He has two points since the break and Findlay is pulling away. a 3 by Dylan Kaufman puts Findlay up by 18. Findlay fans protesting every call they think is a bad call. And they think any call against the Oilers is a bad call.

Joe Graessle has cooled off, Findlay shooters have not.

With nine minutes left, Graessle's gonna have to get hot quick or it's over. Dragons now down 20 after a Josh Brown dunk. RETCHED call on Mike Brown.

Greg Kahlig has outplayed Graessle in the seond half. And despite John Hill telling his guys that it's not over during the last timeout, it looks like it is. Dragons can't create enough offense and Findlay is beating them on each end of the floor. Officiating has been a little suspect, but frankly that isn't something worth complaining about in a 24-point game. Findlay outplayed Tiffin today, that's all. Kahlig's 31 is a career best.

Findlay wins 81-60.
