Ol' Doc's Football Forecast Week 13
November 23, 2012 - Al Stephenson
The Doctor hasn't smiled all week as he missed all three games last week. It took overtime to decide two of the contests, but that is little consolation to Ol' Doc as he was starting to think he actually knew what he was talking about. As Lee Corso is fond of saying, "not so fast my friend."
This is the last week of the season (for OSU fans anyway) and the Doctor is now 24-12. Hitting two-thirds of his predictions is not all bad, but he decided to pick all the rivalry games this week. Miss them all and he will finish below 500. Ol' Doc is going to take his chances anyway. Here goes nothing!
#25 Washington 37 Washington State 21. Huskies take care of business on the road.
#24 Arizona 52 Arizona State 28. The Wildcats do the same at home.
#3 Georgia 31 Georgia Tech 30. Looking ahead to the SEC championship game and a shot at the national title almost derails the Bulldogs.
Virginia Tech 34 Virginia 17. Not Frank Beamer's best squad, but they roll over the Cavaliers.
Tennessee 35 Kentucky 14. One coach is gone already and the other at the end of the season. This isn't hoops so Kentucky is overmatched.
#5 Oregon 49 #15 Oregon State 30. The Ducks bounce back from last week's disappointment.
#10 Florida State 27 #4 Florida 24. Have to pick an upset somewhere and the Seminoles are the choice.
#13 Oklahoma 34 #21 Oklahoma State 28. The Sooners win unless the Schooner wrecks at the outset, then all bets are off.
#8 Stanford 45 #17 UCLA 35. Maybe the best game of the weekend. The Bruins are back, but the Cardinal win this one.
#11 Clemson 34 #12 South Carolina 24. The Gamecocks miss Marcus Lattimore in this backyard brawl.
#2 Alabama 31 Auburn 10. The War Eagles are having a miserable season and the misery will not end this weekend.
Ole Miss 35 Mississippi State 21. How can you not go with a school called Ole Miss?
USC 28 #1 Notre Dame 21. No perfect season for the Irish and it makes the next game all the more relevant.
Ohio State 34 #19 Michigan 24. I thought the Buckeyes would lose in Madison. Now I think they will be the only unbeaten at year's end. All dressed up with no place to go.
The view from my seat suggests that we will wrap up Ol' Doc's season next week. Time will tell whether he is smiling or hiding behind his stethoscope.
