All aboard

The Lake Shore Railway Association will be giving train rides today, Saturday and Sunday during the Lorain County Fair in Wellington. The train will be parked outside the main gate to the fairgrounds on Fairground Road. The train ride is 12 miles round trip through farm lands. The train is powered by an EMD E8A locomotive built in 1950 pulling former Long Island Railroad coaches built by Pullman in the 1950s. The coaches are air-conditioned. They also use an old gondola as an open car plus a former C&O caboose built in 1949. Train times are noon-8 p.m. today and Saturday, and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
