In a recent email exchange with one of our county commissioners, I discovered what is at the core of their reluctance to rescind the alternative energy zone. It is this: They are in their position to do what is the “greater good” for the citizens of Seneca County. No matter what the citizens desire, it’s what they, the commissioners, deem as the “greater good.” Remember the courthouse debacle?
I am sick and tired of politicians being elected to office by we the people and then these same politicians feel they are somehow uniquely qualified to judge what is “the greater good” and not the will of their constituents.
I have a suggestion for our comissioners. Drive down Morrison Road and just look at the signs we the people have in our yards. That message is what we the people want, not what you think is the “greater good.”
