Salute the schreiners

St. Francis Home would like to thank the Schreiner family for their very generous donation to update the second-floor activity area at St. Francis Home. They have purchased leather movie recliners and a flat-screen television in that area to benefit the residents.

The gift was given by the five Schreiner children, Mary Rugh, Mark Schreiner, Matthew Schreiner, Monica Roberson and Martha Lassiter, in honor of their mother and father, Robert and Evelyn Schreiner.

Imagination Celebration

The Office of Gifted Education at Tiffin City Schools would like to express sincere gratitude to the many individuals who helped pull together our Imagination Celebration research fair and adjoining fundraiser dinner May 30.

We sincerely appreciate John Reino of Reino’s Pizza and Pasta for supporting our program with catering services at the Italian dinner fundraiser in the Tiffin Middle School cafetorium. Mr. Reino has supported us in this endeavor each spring for at least 10 years now, and I have always appreciated that he is flexible and enjoyable to work with. This year’s dinner was just wonderful, as usual, and enjoyed by more than 100 people.

In addition to the dinner, our Cleveland-themed raffle this spring raised funds for technology. Thanks go to Andy Stephey and United Insurance for donating a wonderful Cleveland Indians prize package and to the Althaus and Aichholz families for donating two tickets to see the Cleveland Browns. Both winners of these packages were absolutely thrilled.

We also sincerely appreciate The Great Lakes Science Center for donating two admission tickets. Special thanks go to Quick Tab II for donating the printing of our raffle tickets.

Finally, we wish to thank the students for their hard work in preparing their long-range projects that were displayed that night and sincere gratitude for the families who worked so hard to get them there.

It is with great enthusiasm we look

forward to the Imagination Celebration in 2015.

Hempy helps

Fifth Saturday event

The First Presbyterian Church of Tiffin wishes to thank Hempy Water for its generous contribution of bottled water for the “Fifth Saturday” mission project at the church.

Because the local Sharing Kitchen provides meals Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, First Presbyterian Church provides a free carryout lunch to needy persons on months that have a fifth Saturday, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The next fifth Saturday will be Aug. 30.
