A bridal fair and more
Altrusa International of Tiffin just completed its annual “More Than Just A Bridal Fair” Sunday at Meadowbrook Park Ballroom. There were 51 vendors from near and far in attendance. More importantly, there were 122 prospective brides attending and hundreds of guests.
The abundance of gifts and services donated this year and gathered by Gloria Fraley, one of the co-chairwomen of the event, created a unique situation. We were able to assemble three gift baskets; two for two lucky brides worth $1,000 each, and one gift basket for a guest worth $800.
Our thanks to Keith Hodkinson, who handled the announcing and interviews throughout the day.
Special thanks to Teresa Hoschar, president of Altrusa, for arranging to have students from Tiffin University and Heidelberg University achieve their community service hours by helping vendors in and out of the event.
Joyce Lather and her committee handled the luncheon and snacks. Bookmyer Printing, Karen Knaur and Kathleen Howard gave their printing, computer expertise and advertising knowledge to spread the word and set up the bridal booklets given to each guest. Karen Simons directed a very successful 50/50 drawing, and Gwen Stallard is everyone’s banker for the event.
We, of Altrusa, want to thank the community, guests and vendors for a very successful Bridal Fair. The money we receive from our fundraisers goes back into the community, so watch Altrusa on Facebook (tiffinaltrusafacebook) to see where we are able to send our funds.
Thank you to one and all.
Mary Lou Harrison, co-chairwoman, and the Bridal Fair committee
