Ten Commandments are for everyone
In response to Stephanie Osborn’s letter: Many laws written in the Old Testament were for God’s people of Israel in those times (civil, sacrificial laws). The Ten Commandments handed down to Moses are for all.
When Jesus came down to Earth, he said to the people, “I did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill the law.” See, the Ten Commandments are to show all humans we cannot keep the law, which is sin, which is total separation from God, which means eternal damnation, Hell. The Good News (the Gospel) is God sent his son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for all us. Whoever believes in him will have eternal life, Heaven.
Sin is sin. Society, judicial laws, cultures, personal beliefs and opinions, dictate which is more offensive. Still sin.
God created marriage, which is one man and one woman.
In the New Testament and Old Testament, sex outside of marriage is a sin, but not against man-made laws, the same as drunkeness, lying, using God’s name in vain are all breaking God’s law. I am sure most people, Christian or not, would agree these do not represent good qualities.
We are all sinners, me and you, that is why we all need a savior, Jesus Christ alone. We can not earn salvation from good works, religious duties, being a “good person;” if that was the case, we would be saying Jesus’s death on the cross was not sufficient enough. Please be urgent and give your life to Christ.
