Thanks for supporting firefighters’ festival
The Bascom firefighters would like to thank everyone who supported the firefighters’ festival July 13 at Meadowbrook Park.
A special thanks to the generous donors. Without their help, out festival wouldn’t be such a success.
Thank to all who took the time to sell tickets door to door in their neighborhood.
The churches in the fire district did a great job preparing and serving in the ballroom. A special “thank you” for all the help in the ballroom to Vickie Berrier, Angie Tiell and Karen Kuhn.
Many members of the community helped set up and worked the night of the festival. The Bascom Lion Club grilled the hamburgers and washed many roasters. The Edgar Coleman family has done a wonderful job providing things for the younger children for many years. Cotton candy was provided by Tiell Financial Group and staff. Merle Reinhart has had the stuffed animal raffle for many years. Many firemen worked in the french fry stand, ice cream booth, beverage booth and the dunk tank. Thanks to Marjorie Schalk – the lemonade and snow cone area, the Cooper family – the sandwich stand, Dean Vogel, cashiers, all who helped with bingo, the Ed Kuhn family for providing rides for the kids and the Valentine family for the tractor-train. There are many more who worked many hours. A special “thank you” to Jerry and Joanne Lowery for the sound system, keeping attendees posted on events happening throughout the evening.
Thanks to all who helped in any way. Thanks to all who came to enjoy the weather, food, fellowship and fun.
All fire trucks and safety equipment were on display. Proceeds from the festival will be used to update fire equipment and for continued training for the firefighters.
