Remove symbol of prejudice

The prominent display of the Confederate battle flag on homes and on vehicles sends a very unwelcoming and un-Christ-like message to anyone living in or visiting our area. The Confederate battle flag does not represent heritage; it represents hatred, racism and the brutal oppression and exploitation of millions of African-Americans, the effects of which are still powerfully felt across the nation generations later.

We should strive to be more loving toward our neighbors and our guests by tearing down this symbol of prejudice.
