Food drive thrives

The annual From the Heart food drive was truly a blessing to the organizations that benefitted from the generosity of our community members. We wish to thank all of the donors who made it possible for the food drive to collect non-perishable items, canned goods, personal and cleaning supplies.

This effort was a great boost to the local food pantries and transitional housing facilities.

A special thanks to Heritage IGA, VFW, Autumnwood, Kiwanis Manor and all of the churches that took up collections for the food drive.

With their help and that of the Heidelberg University football players and volunteers from CROSSWAEH, The Salvation Army, The Morrison House and students from Columbian High School, we were able to collect donations, check expiration dates, sort and fill the pantry shelves.

Thanks also to the Columbian Key Club members along with the Heidelberg students who passed out flyers around the community to advertise prior to the event.

Once again, we thank our community for their kindness to give to the food drive in an effort to help those Seneca County residents who might otherwise go without necessary food for themselves and their families.

Your thoughtfulness and generosity is recognized and appreciated. May you

be blessed in return for your kindheartedness.
