DayBreak offers daycare

DayBreak of Fostoria Inc., a nonprofit, adult daycare center for persons with memory loss or Alzheimer’s Disease, is pleased to announce The Columbus Foundation has awarded DayBreak $5,000 for the Allen Eiry Fund for 2013. DayBreak is very grateful for this grant, as it will provide funding to support the activities and events of the DayBreak program for the 2013 year. This generous grant is so important as it allows the cost to be kept to the daily charge to attend the program and no other expenses for the family. This is very important for us at DayBreak to be able to offer to families.

The clients of DayBreak are stimulated mentally with activities and outings, as well as daily exercises. These are therapeutic values to activities for the elderly, such as, challenging and tapping the potential abilities of participants, improving their physical and emotional well-being and developing interpersonal relationships. We also have monthly art therapy, craft and musical programs just to name a few, for which this grant provides the funding. The caregiver of the person with dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease benefits as well, by having a day to themselves to catch up on their own needs from this 24/7 job.

DayBreak of Fostoria, which began services April 17, 2000, is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Persons interested in learning more about the program may contact Terri Faeth at DayBreak at (419) 435-4022.

Thank you
