Keep cards with gifts secure
Another school year is ending, and that means cards of congratulations are being signed, sealed and delivered to graduation parties – often with monetary gifts enclosed.
Unfortunately, a parent has reported cards were stolen at a recent gathering.
“Parents need to be on alert about this kind of situation, because I know I was blindsided with it,” the parent stated. “They not only stole from my son, but from the guests who were kind enough to give a monetary gift to my son.”
Thus, hosts who plan to leave a basket for cards may want to rethink that approach. And checks are the safest way for a guest to leave a monetary gift; gift cards are second, with cash the least secure method.
