Don’t let winter endanger blood supplies
Are you suffering from cabin fever? Getting a bit stir crazy because the cold, snowy weather is canceling activities and keeping you indoors?
Want to try something different and do a good deed at the same time?
The snow and cold have put the chill on blood donations so far this year. This week offers a stretch of blood drives thaat can help meet demand. According to the American Red Cross, “pint sites” are set for:
9:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. today at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
3-8 p.m. today at Krout Elementary School, 20 Glenn St.
11 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday at Tiffin University.
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday at Heidelberg University.
Donating blood can be done in about an hour. Donors must be age 17 or older (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
