Larry Ward Howell
Larry Ward Howell, 81, passed Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, after a five-year brave battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 20, 1937, in McClure, to Ralph and Grace Ward and was later adopted by Luther and Beatrice Howell of Bloomville.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jan Tuck Howell; his two sons, Ladd Luther (Christy) Howell of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Lindsay William (Julie) Howell of Cottonwood, Arizona; two granddaughters, Austin Howell of Bend, Oregon, and Paige Howell of Scottsdale, Arizona; a grandson, Jax Gorman of Chicago, Illinois; a great-grandson, Kai Ugarte of Bend, Oregon; his sister-in-law, Adrienne Howell of Tipp City; and his sister, Phoebe (Jay) Huddle of Napoleon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Dr. Albert Howell.
Larry was a sales representative in the field of heating and air conditioning for the Don Starr Co. and Bodine Motor Co. covering the western U.S. territory, Alaska and Canada, allowing him to travel, which he loved. He was an accomplished cook and loved to collect cookbooks. After retiring, he played softball in the Prescott League.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but is free of pain as he dwells in heaven.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Chapel of the Valley in Fain Park, 2215 5th St., Prescott Valley, Arizona. Military honors also will take place.
Larry will be interred in Heritage Memorial Park, Dewey, Arizona.
