Constance J. “Connie” Patton, 79, of Risingsun, died at 8:38 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital.

Born Oct. 22, 1938, in Carey, she was the daughter of Ralph D. and Opal E. (Eingle) Hill. She married Frederick D. Patton July 8, 1978, at Solomon Lutheran Church, Woodville. He survives in Risingsun.

Also surviving are their two daughters, Jenny Drain of Risingsun and Mary (Timothy) Snoke of Rawson; 12 grandchildren, Alexander, Travis, Theodore, Jewleahia, Andrew, Hannah, Lucy, Phinehas, Judah, Eliyana, Matthew and Caleb; two great-grandchildren, Charles and Serenity; and three siblings, Carroll (Diane) Hill of Carey, Marge Hill of Grove City and Christeen (Bob) Nye of Carey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Juanita Borer and Barbara Puckett; and four brothers, Roger, Harlow, Franklin “Ike” and Gerald “George” Hill.

Connie was a 1956 graduate of Carey High School. She was a homemaker and also worked at RCA in Findlay for 20 years, Sterlings in Fostoria, Green’s General Store in Risingsun and Jim Haynes Novelty in Carey. She was a former member of Ridge Chapel of the Nazarene in Carey and lead Children’s Church in Adrian.

She was a Girl Scout leader, and she enjoyed crafting, photography and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Connie loved children and was a mom or grandma to anyone in need.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.

Her funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Mahan officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.

The family prefers no memorial contributions. Connie would like everyone to help others throughout life’s journey.
