Henderson Hacker Jr.
Henderson Hacker Jr., 86, of Bloomville, died Tuesday morning, July 17, 2018, at his home in Bloomville.
Henderson was born April 9, 1932, in Laurel County, Kentucky, to Henderson and Della Hacker Sr. He married Norma Jean Steeples Jan. 28, 1956, in Danville, Illinois, and she preceded him in death in 2013.
Survivors include two sons, Gerry (Tama) Hacker of Sycamore and Bradley (Karen) Hacker of Bellevue; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Doug (Juanita) Hacker of Indiana, Vernon Hacker of Michigan and Dickie Hacker of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Michael and Greg Hacker; two daughters, Debra Jones and Vicki McDowell; and four brothers, Ed, Manford, Jerry and Charlie Hacker.
Henderson was a U.S. Navy Korean conflict veteran.
He had worked for France Stone Quarry in Bloomville for many years as a welder and operating the stone crusher, and he retired in 1985. He was a member of Local No. 69, and was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed cutting wood and was considered as onery as a rattlesnake.
Graveside services for Henderson will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018, at Pleasant View Cemetery, at the corner of CR 6 and CR 43 near Bloomville, with the Rev. Charlene Thomas officiating. The United Veterans Council of Tiffin will conduct military graveside services.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
